Residing on Pebble Point in the Cobble Stone Subdivision adjacent to Stone Creek is exactly what we thought it would be. Relaxing After going through a terrible experience in 2019, coming dangerously close to almost suffering the loss of my son in an industrial accident, discovering an entire street of executive homes for lease was an answer to our prayers, and we prayed a great deal to locate the home we now lease. The home which miraculously became available at just the right time was perfect for us, with more than enough space to take up residence on a temporary basis and also allowed us to dedicate an entire room for climate controlled storage as we prepare to construct a brand-new ADA home for my son in the near future. Having the opportunity to lease a brand-new home has also given us great ideas and the opportunity to experience true quality and craftsmanship in the trades used to construct these homes. Leasing and residing in a home offered by The Atkins Group is the peace we so desperately needed while caring for my son as he recovers and sharing an entire street with friendly people who are also leasing has been nothing but awesome, peaceful and relaxing. Cannot stress it enough for our family, an answer to our prayers
We moved into our home site unseen and loved that the pictures and description online matched what we walked into the first day we arrived. We rented during the height of the COVID lock down. Everything was made easy. Amber has been wonderful to work with.
Good Morning Kevin,
Just a short note to say thank you so much for speaking with me on Monday reference the heating issue at 2105 Pebble Point and for directing me to contact Edelman direct.
Also, thank you for sending Jeremy over as well as it was a pleasure meeting and speaking with him. It was refreshing listening to him and how you trust him to hold the trades, vendors and service technicians accountable making sure that each of them provide TAG with five-star quality in all that they do.
Jeremy also shared with us how you personally blessed him with a pair of brand-new boots when he first started with TAG shoveling snow with a pair of tennis shoes with holes. Kevin, that story blessed our hearts. Praise God!
Thanks again and we hope to be able to meet you in person before the end of our 11/30/2022 lease.
God bless, stay safe and stay warm!!!
Working with The Atkins Group, specifically Mark Dixon and John Martinie, on our new office buildout at Pinehurst Commons in Champaign was an exceptional experience. From site selection to working with their architects on design and layout (finalizing every small detail), to ultimately moving into our new space, Mark and John were professional and timely with every step of the process. I appreciated their attention to my specific needs throughout the process. It was refreshing to see what looked like a daunting process turn into an experience I would gladly undertake with The Atkins Group again. Before this project, I had not experienced such a high level of responsiveness and integrity when dealing with a developer. Our office buildout project had an extremely tight timeline, yet the Atkins Group came in on budget and actually, ahead of schedule. We could not be more satisfied with the results. Would I do a project again with Mark and John? ABSOLUTELY!
Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education (ROE) worked with The Atkins Group to locate office space in the Champaign-Urbana area. Mark Dixon helped us to find a building for our office in a very accessible location. The Atkins Group worked with us to remodel the space to meet our needs and to structure a long-term lease that fit our budget. Everyone with whom we worked on the project was knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Communication between staff from The Atkins Group and the ROE was frequent and informative. The firm completed the project on schedule and per the agreed budget. Throughout the process, I felt that The Atkins Group was committed to creating good office space for the ROE. Many of our clients and stakeholders have remarked that the office is strategically located, appealing to the eye, and very user friendly. We have been in the new office one year, and the Atkins Group has been a responsive and fair leaser.
Our involvement with Mark Dixon, John Martinie, Jane Solon and the staff of the Atkins Group has been very positive. They helped to ensure the ROE’s relocation and transition was successful and smooth.
I highly recommend this group if you are looking for space to lease and/or build out in the area.
We have used Jim Goss of the Atkins Group as our farm manager for almost 20 years. In that time, Jim has performed exceptionally well. We have benefited financially and personally because of Jim. We have use Jim as a manager, advisor, educator and confidant. He has managed our operation, and helped us expand. He has improved our income on the existing land to improve the value of our investment with the use of creative strategies that were not available twenty years ago. He also brought us new land acquisitions to strategically expand our operation and increase our total returns.
In choosing a farm manager, we wanted someone who knew farming, knew the business of farming and could function with or without our input. Jim grew up on a farm and there is “dirt” in his veins. Our farmer loves having Jim to discuss farming techniques with. The two of them function like a team discussing hybrids and planting techniques that I have no knowledge or care of. Jim encouraged the farmer to use GPS and other high-tech methods to improve performance and yields. Due to the teamwork, our farm routinely outperforms the neighboring farms.
Jim also knows the business side of farming. His agricultural degree is from the Illinois State University, so he is always trying to expand his knowledge, and our farms profitability. He is attends conferences and seeks out new methods to improve profitability. He handles the insurance and government programs and forms with patience and precision. In 2008, Jim’s insurance work netted the farms their biggest profit, even though we could not grow a crop.
Like any good working relationship, our partnership has evolved. Early on, Jim received little or no input. As time progressed, he patiently taught us more. We are much more involved now than ever, and Jim listens and is eager to solicit input. Whether we call once a year or several times in day, Jim has always answered our questions and concerns.
In summary, whether you are a seasoned land investor or considering your first foray into farming, Jim Goss is the ideal farm manager. If you already know about farming, adding Jim’s expertise to your operation will produce immediate results. If you are new to land investment, then Jim is ideal. You can sleep at night knowing that your new investment will profit by Jim’s involvement. He gladly accepts whatever level of input you seek, whether you want to actively manage with him, or prefer one phone call a year.
What attracted me over three years ago to Ashland Park was initially the affordability and quality of the homes, proximity to shopping and major thoroughfares, and an abundance of natural/open settings for walking and recreational enjoyment. Now that I am an Ashland Park homeowner, I truly enjoy all the benefits mentioned above in addition to being a member of a vibrant, diverse community.
Ashland Park management worked tirelessly on my behalf long after the sales contract was signed. They remain a valuable resource to provide guidance and assurance. I have peace of mind knowing that we remain partners and advocates for this amazing neighborhood. Whether a first time buyer, looking to expand living space or downsizing, Ashland Park has it all. You don’t have to sacrifice quality for affordability.
I really appreciated the personalized attention I received from Atkins Group and Ashland Park, and I feel like folks here are good friends. They offer great help when I have any questions of improving and maintaining my house. I am thankful for the help from Kevin and Kirk. Most importantly, Ashland Park offers a decent neighborhood, quiet, beautiful, and convenient location, not far from CBD (center business district) as we call them in Asian and other big cities in the US. Shopping in Wal-Mart, Meijer, Macy Mall area, Hobby Lobby, Lowes, and theaters… are really gas-saving.
Ashland Park is a great place to live. The development of the subdivision has been done with taste and style for the housing industry. Homes are affordable and well built with today’s building standards in place. A strong community for the younger generation as well as seniors. A neighborhood of diversity of cultures is prevalent. Each phase of construction has brought new designs and enhanced upgrades to all of the homes. Customer service and satisfaction runs high amongst the residents at Ashland Park. From a local realtor’s perspective I enjoy selling these homes because my clients feel comfortable and satisfied once they make the decision to live in Ashland Park. If you want to live in a newer home Ashland Park is the place to be in Champaign, Illinois.
We really love living out at Ashland Park. All the sidewalk paths make it easy to get out and take a walk, as well as meet your neighbors. One of the things we have really enjoyed is the warranty department. Even if we had a minor issue that needed fixed, James or Kevin would show up within hours and help out. Plus, the construction of the home is fantastic. We were able to move in, paint the walls and feel at home instantly. We never thought our first home would be brand new, but the homes at Ashland Park made that possible, especially at the price point.
I realized last week it has been over a year since my children and I moved into Ashland Park. I think it is time I shared what this experience has meant to me.
In June of 2009, when our family home had to be sold and we were only ten days from the closing, we moved to Ashland Park. You worked with the banks, the realtors and the Atkins group to allow us to move in immediately. What a relief that my furniture would not be populating the street in front of my old home!
When I had questions or needed anything looked at in the new house, your team of (Captain) Kirk, Kevin and James were there to help. Stephanie, the master decorator, was an inspiration in making our new house a home. She made sure the appliances matched the kitchen cabinets and the blinds were installed right away. It is and was a comfort to know that questions about the heating system, and any other things that pop up from time to time in an unfamiliar new home, were responded to as soon as possible.
And what a special treat that the new park was dedicated this past summer. My children and I watched the Fourth of July fireworks from the top of the hill, with no traffic to contend with afterwards! My dog and I enjoy walking the neighborhood with the many neighbors and their pooches.
Finally, I just wanted to thank you and your employees for making this time of transition for my family a positive experience. You are good people.
Moving to Ashland Park was the best decision I could have ever made as a 1st time homeowner. Everyone from the sales office to my neighbors are absolutely AMAZING! Purchasing from the Atkins Group provided me a beautiful home, an awesome sales experience and team, and great neighbors.
I love my home!
Whether you are a novice or have built a house before, the Atkins Group is the builder for you. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The whole process is an open book so there are no surprises. Every detail was explained and discussed. This group was easy to work with and they have a wealth of information on all aspects of the building. Kirk Skelton, the project manager was really great to work with. He was very professional and he made it his business to make sure you were happy with the results. We love the area we are in and the concept of the zero lot line home. The lawn and snow removal is another bonus—we do not have to worry about it! Come and check out Cobble Creek—a nice place to live.
Gill Athletics and Porter Athletic, now known as Litania Sports Group, recently finished its second project with Mark Dixon and the Atkins Group. Approximately six years ago Gill moved its operations from downtown Urbana to a green field in north Champaign. The Atkins Group led us through the entire project from conceptual layouts to the finished product. Mark led weekly design and construction meetings with all parties involved. In addition, many breakout coordination meetings were held to make sure the project went smoothly and met our demanding expectations.
Last year it came time to expand the Gill facility from 87,000 square feet to 205,000 square feet to house an acquisition, Porter Athletic, previously located in Chicago. Again, the Atkins Group, with Mark Dixon and Joel Barickman, led us through every stage of the design and construction. The new office and factory complex turned out superb. By many, it is considered the premier space of its kind in Champaign/Urbana.
The Atkins Group will confirm that we keep a tight control on costs and timelines. Mark and Joel were very good about accommodating out demands and staying within budget as well as meeting their projected timelines. In addition, they were very helpful in navigating the nuisances of the city government with regards to permits.
I recommend the Atkins Group for any industrial design/build project.
We are very happy in our new office. I just can’t say enough about how wonderful you all are at the Atkins Group. Thank you for helping us get into a space that would work for us. We love it!
